dieffenbachia dumb cane informational plant care tips

Dieffenbachia, also known as Dumb Cane plants, are truly a great lower light option for plant parents. They are extremely adaptable to different lighting conditions and may just need to be rotated as they lean towards the light source in a space. ☀️ ⁣

Dieffenbachia come in many different color variations ranging from neon green and emerald to deep green with white variegation. Our personal favorite has to be the Dieffenbachia ‘Reflector’ with its vibrant electric green mottled and camo-like spots. ⁣

These plants like well-draining soil as they do not like to have wet roots for too long. They also like to be lightly fertilized with a diluted fertilizer solution when they are juvenile to help them form a healthy root system. If you see new growth, don’t feel afraid to fertilize! ⁣

It is very important to note that this plant is very toxic. It is a plant that would not be suited for people with nosy pets or small children. It is also recommended that you wash your hands after handling this one as some individuals even react negatively to touching it’s leaves. Happy cultivation, plant friends! 💚🌿
